Prepare your daily cup of Cacao

Ingredients

• 30g cacao paste (100%)
• 180 – 200 ml water

Optional — make it your own:
• Plant milk (or a blend of water + plant milk)
• Spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, chilli, or vanilla
• Collagen powder, medicinal mushroom powder or other nourishing additions

Method

  1. Warm the water
    Heat your water gently in your favourite pot until steam begins to rise.
  2. Add the cacao
    Place the cacao paste into the warm water.
    As it begins to melt, take a few slow breaths.
  3. Whisk with intention
    Whisk briskly until the cacao has fully dissolved.
  4. Allow to boil
    Once dissolved, stop whisking and allow the cacao to boil rapidly for a short time.
    This step allows the cacao butter to emulsify with the liquid, creating a rich, velvety texture. This method was shared directly from Mama Cacao — a reminder not to fear the boil.
    When prepared consciously, the health benefits are not compromised. Instead, the drink becomes deeper, more decadent, and profoundly nourishing for mind, body, and spirit.
  5. Remove from heat
    Once thickened, pour into your favourite cup or travel mug. Add any additions you love like sweetener or plant milk or drink as is!
